Welcome to Edendane’s homepage

Teija

I have been involved with dogs nearly all my life.

I was 3 years when I fall in love to our first dog.

He was mixed breed (Carelian Bear dog x  Germany Shepherd). He was me very best friend in my childhood.

Great Danes since 1975 – Breeding Great Danes since 1984

My very first Great Dane was fawn bitch “Trista” who was born January 1975.

Her life ended at very early stage and I lost her when she was only 10 months.

Even though I had her only very short time, she ignited my love for Great Danes.

After those many years that love burns brighter than ever.

After three weeks of sleepless nights my parents bought me a five month old brindle bitch puppy named Fami.

She was out of German bloodlines. Her sire was an import from Germany,

Amadeus von Roland and her dam Gullami av Ros Loge. I also started my show career with Fami.

Not only in dog shows but also in obedience. Fami died when she was only 5 years old of a second bloat episode.

Great Danes since 1975 – Breeding Great Danes since 1984

I waited for my third Dane for almost a whole year. It felt like an eternity.

She was a fawn female named FIN Ch. Catalina Blonda-Bellina.

We called her Blondi. Her sire was Boris v d Haardburg and her dam was FIN Ch Danehouse Quincy.

Blondi made my dreams come true, I could show her and breed her.

She achieved Finnish Championship and was the dam of the first two Edendane’s litters.

It was time to have a second Dane in the house.

In 1989 I was privileged to have a very beautiful fawn bitch puppy from Mrs. Anna Mary Kauffman,

FIN Ch Mountdania’s Wanda.

Wanda is the foundation bitch of my today’s breeding program and

I have experienced many highlights in show rings with her.

More of my breeding work you can find here from my homepage.

Here are lots and lots of photos and I think one photo tells more than thousand words.

Be my quest and visit my homepage.

I have had honour to make co-operation and contacts with many Great Dane breeders around the world;

USA, Sweden, Norway, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada…..

I don’t breed much and I have litter once at year and sometimes not even that.

All of our dogs are living inside the house with us.

Puppies born and growing always middle of normally home life.

I always trying to do my best but even that is not always enough as every breeder know.

I have use for breeding only dogs which are approving to breeding of

Finnish Great Dane Club breeding committee and Finnish Kennel Club.

I love to work with my dogs and other dogs with their owners.

I had kept Handler classes with great success all over Finland.

I really love to do that and it always so lovely see happy and proud dane owners with their lovely danes.

I am always ready to come and teach what I know,  if somebody wants!

Love to this wonderful, incredible breed has also taken great part of my life as

working at Finnish Great Dane Club.  Since 1983 I have been member of Finnish Great Dane board.

That road has made me from the board member to chairman of the Club.

I had loved every minute to work with this breed and everything what is into that.

After 2 years hard work I finally get my FCI licence for judging Great Danes at summer 2006.
